Statement

Kävelin Tampereen kadulla ja tunsin kuin olisin unessa. Tunsin jonkin virtaavan ja olin mukana siinä virrassa. Kaikki liikkeeni, ajatukseni ja tunteeni olivat virrassa. En yrittänyt panna vastaan vaan annoin itseni mennä. Sain heti ajatuksen videosta. Tai oikeastaan performatiivisesta toiminnasta, jonka haluaisin videoida. Päiväni ovat täynnä luovuuden puuskia ja tasaista tuulen virikettä.

Toisessa kappaleessa haluaisin kertoa minulle läheisistä tekniikoista, joilla voi purkaa tuota luovuuden virettä ja puuskaista tuulta. Video on ilmaisuvoimaltaan sopiva. Se pysäyttää ja imee ihmisen sisälleen. Kaikki unohtuu helposti. Performatiivisuudessa yleisö samaistuu esiintyjään ja koko joukko esiintyy. Toisaalta pidän valokuvasta ja maalauksesta. Olen löytänyt mukavan keinon yhdistää nämä serigrafialla. Tekniset seikat tekemisessä hillitsevät voimakasta luovaa otetta, joka vahingossa voi murskata teokseni herkkyyden.

Taide on lähellä elämää. Taide on lähellä sydäntä ja sielua. Taide on jotain jota vain voi luoda. Taide on peruuttamatonta. Taide nujertaa. Taide nostaa jalat pilviin ja kaataa rankkasateen tavoin tunteita.

Statement

I was walking down the street in Manchester and I felt like I was in a dream. I felt somekind of a stream going through me. In that stream was all my motion, my thoughts and my feelings. I let myself go. Instantly at this moment I had a vision about a video. Or, to be precise, an idea about a performance that I'd like to shoot on a video. My days are filled with these kind of winds of creativity and streams of inspiration.

In the second paragraph I'd like to tell you about the techiniques that I am fond of, the techniques that I use to implement my inspirations. The power of expression in a video feels kind of natural to me. Video makes people stop and inhales individuals into it. This makes people forget everything else. In a performance the audience assimilates into the actor and so also the audience becomes part of the performance. I like photography and I like painting. To use these techniques at same time, I have found serigraphy. Technical matters in the making settle down the strong expessivism that could easily crush the sensitive part in my art.

Art is in life. Art is close to heart and soul. Art is something that you can only create. Art is inevitable. Art takes you down. Art raises you up into the skies and pours your feelings like a tropical rain.
